One Workforce and Rural Healthcare Virtual Convening

One Workforce and Rural Healthcare Virtual Convening

February 2, 2022 – Sponsored by Department of Labor (and Workforce GPS)

Dug Jones, Program Director for Workforce Grants with Clark University, partnered with Meredith Montgomery, from Public Consulting Group to deliver an engaging presentation about the importance of partnerships and employer engagement for the Department of Labor’s One Workforce and Rural Healthcare Virtual Convening.

As stated by Greg Scheib with the DOL “Partnership and employer engagement is a foundation of the One Workforce Grant and the grant requires that each program form public-private sector partnerships of businesses, educational institutions, and workforce development organizations to develop innovative workforce solutions to common workforce challenges. But as we all know, establishing and maintaining tangible and effective partnerships can be difficult in the best of times; but the changing world of work as result of the COVID pandemic, and resulting recent labor market shifts and employee shortages are making these partnerships all the more challenging – and all the more essential – as we try and meet the needs of our businesses and career seekers.”
